THE STORY BEHIND NATURAL JOURNEE

I was born in Chicago, IL and raised in the south suburbs. Five years ago, I decided to “Go Natural”. In the past 32 years of my life, I had to deal with split ends, breakage and excessive dryness while getting my hair relaxed.
With 4c type hair, I felt limited on different hairstyles I could wear. After a year of being natural, I was actually considering to go back to having my hair relaxed. I was so discouraged and bored with my hair until I discovered YouTube! This resource was a lifesaver. With YouTube I was able to view tutorials on how to style my 4c type hair. At that point, I realized that I too can wear cute hairstyles while being natural. From YouTube, I learned how imperative it was to keep my cuticles closed and hair moisturized. I wear lots of protective hairstyles to maintain the ends of my hair.
My company, “Natural Journee” was inspired by and is named after my daughter Journee. She also has natural hair. I teach her to embrace her natural hair and she likes to wear hairstyles just like mommy. Journee has taken the natural journey with me to discover different moisturizing agents.
My daughter has eczema. When she was born, her pediatrician recommended me to use the hydrocortisone on her skin every day. After 3 years of adding these hormones to her body, I realized it was not taking care of the actual problem. So what was the real point in using prescription drugs for her skin? Then, I found Shea butter and learned that it was a great moisturizer for the skin and hair. I experimented and researched until I found the best moisturizing oils, herbal remedies and applied that on her skin every day. I saw an immediate difference after a few days. She was not complaining about being itchy or scratching her skin
Natural Journee is an excellent product and I finally decided that I had to share this with the world because it has performed miracles on my hair, my daughters hair and skin. You will love this product just as much as I do…hopefully more.
